YEREVAN. – Armenian Ambassador Artashes Tumanyan met with Masoumeh Ebtekar, Vice President of Iran and head of Iran’s Environmental Protection Organization.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Ambassador Tumanyan noted that Armenia and Iran have a positive track-record of cooperation in the domain of environmental protection.

Vice President Ebtekar, for her part, stated that the respective bilateral collaboration has strengthened in recent years.

The interlocutors stressed that the lifting of the international sanctions on Iran opens new prospects for the development of l cooperation, including in environmental protection.

Artashes Tumanyan and Masoumeh Ebtekar discussed the Arax River pollution issue, the establishment of a national friendship reserve on the Armenian-Iranian border, and the development of plans toward the development of ecotourism and protection of some species of animals.
