We are enemies neither to Russia nor the Russian people.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the aforementioned statement today.

Erdoğan once again stated that the Russian jet violated the air space of Turkey, which caused the Su-24 incident, Turkish BuGün website reports. 

 “If there hadn’t been a violation, we wouldn’t have downed the jet. We are enemies neither to Russia nor the Russian people. When everyone imposed sanctions, we didn’t do that. Because of two pilots Russia lost a friend like Turkey. And the Syrian issue is a matter of interest to Russia, whereas for us it’s a matter of life and death,” Erdoğan said.
