YEREVAN. - The Armenia Revolutionary Federation (ARF) takes general responsibility for the governance of the country’s all spheres.

ARF MP Aghvan Vardanyan said the aforementioned at a briefing after the signing of the Memorandum on Political Cooperation between the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and ARF at the Presidential Palace in Yerevan.

According to him, the memorandum is a thoroughly developed fundamental document.  “In some sense, it’s a road map, which includes the objectives of the two forces, as well as the provisions of the President’s recent speech,” Vardanyan said.

He also expressed conviction that the coalition won’t decrease people’s faith in ARF.

Armenia’s Education Minister Armen Ashotyan, who is also the RPA Deputy Chairman, announced that the memorandum introduces a new political culture.

To the journalists’ question on whether it’s acceptable for the authorities to persecute political activists, Aghvan Vardanyan gave an elusive answer: “It’s not time to discuss the assessments, but in our documents we will refer to that issue too.”

Pursuant to the agreement, Artsvik Minasyan will be appointed Armenia’s Economy Minister, Levon Mkrtchyan – Education Minister, and Davit Lokyan – Minister of Territorial Administration and Development.

The posts of Aragatsotn and Shirak province governors will also be given to ARF: specifically Gabriel Gyozalyan and Hovsep Simonyan will assume the posts of Aragatsotn and Shirak provinces respectively.
