YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Thursday introduced the newly appointed Minister of Education and Science, Levon Mkrtchyan, to the Ministry staff.

Abrahamyan lauded outgoing minister Armen Ashotyan’s activities in this capacity, and thanked him for the teamwork.

At the same time, the PM congratulated Levon Mkrtchyan on his appointment as the new Minister of Education and Science, and expressed confidence that Mkrtchyan will do everything to successfully implement the future reforms and programs of these two domains.

Levon Mkrtchyan, for his part, thanked for the trust, and assured that all envisioned programs will be most excellently implemented.

As reported earlier, the Republican Party of Armenia and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party on Wednesday signed a memorandum of cooperation.

According to this document, ARF member Levon Mkrtchyan is appointed Minister of Education and Science, ARF member Artsvik Minasyan is designated Minister of Economy, and ARF member Davit Lokyan is appointed Minister of Territorial Administration and Development.

In addition, the offices of Governors of Shirak and Aragatsotn Provinces also have been assigned to ARF.
