STEPANAKERT. – Azerbaijan is disseminating yet another misinformation and attributing its own mistake, or clumsiness, to the Armenians.

The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Prime Minister’s spokesperson, Artak Beglaryan, stated the aforesaid.

He noted this commenting, at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, on the Azerbaijani media “reports” that an Azerbaijani village bridge recently had collapsed due to the excessive water released from Sarsang Reservoir in the NKR.

“In reality, the operation mode of Sarsang HPS [i.e. hydroelectric power station] has not changed in recent months, and an average of 20 cubic meters of water per second—which is very far from the volume for collapsing a bridge—is released from Sarsang every day,” Beglaryan said. “Furthermore, simple logic suggests that even if we release large volume of water for some objectives, it will damage the equipment of our HPS.

“Let me recall that in the case when the villagers of Azerbaijan get water from Sarsang Reservoir eight to nine months a year, our [own] villagers don’t get [it] for even one day, since Azerbaijan maintains the canal junction located in their territory closed.”
