YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, and the Yerkrapah (Defender of the Land) Volunteer Union members on Saturday visited Yerablur Military Pantheon in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Armenian military commander and politician Vazgen Sargsyan, the late Vazgen Sargsyan (PHOTOS).
The Armenian senior officials paid tribute to the memory of Sargsyan, and laid wreaths and placed flowers to his tomb.
Armenia’s former defense minister and prime minister, Vazgen Sargsyan, would have turned 57 on Saturday, March 5, 2016.
The Armenian people had named him Supreme Commander, in recognition of his invaluable services rendered to the defense of the homeland.
Vazgen Sargsyan was assassinated in the tragedy that occurred in the Armenian National Assembly on October 27, 1999.
