YEREVAN. – The commodity prices continue to fall in Armenia. According to official data, deflation in the country is 1.7 percent, on an annual basis, and only services have increased—by 3.4 percent.

It is known that, against the backdrop of the considerable decline in remittances from abroad, the overall purchasing power of Armenia’s population has reduced. This factor has directly impacted the sale of products in the retail network of the country.

It is also clear that the markets which sell agricultural products respond quickly to the decline in demand for these products.

All of Armenia’s retail trade enterprises want to quickly sell their products. The increasing gap between prices in shops and markets, however, may contribute to a change in the price tags in stores; but in this case, to a reduction in prices.

But this does not mean that there is a widespread reduction in the prices of gods in Armenia.
