The person suspected of killing a 14-year-old schoolgirl has been detained in Russia’s Kislovodsk spa city.

The disfigured body of Alexandra O. was found on March 5. The girl was stoned to death, Lifenews reports.

The law enforcement authorities suspect Artyom Hakobyan, 19, of committing this grievous crime. Days after the incident, the young man posted a letter in the social network in which he confessed about the crime allegedly committed because of unrequited love. In the same post, he bid farewell to everyone, saying he was going to kill himself.

“All this time the investigators and detectives carried out work aimed at determining the whereabouts of Hakobyan and his detention. He did his best to mislead the law enforcement officers, even placing information on his intention to kill himself, following which he “dropped out of sight” so that nobody could doubt he was no longer alive. The confidence that he was able to mislead everyone might have allowed him return home, where he was discovered by the detectives,” the representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia’s Stavropol Krai said.

 As a result of the work implemented, operative information was received on the whereabouts of the wanted. The young man was detained in the basement of one of the houses not far from where he lived.  It was confirmed that he hid in woods during all this time before the fall of temperature, representatives of the Stavropol Krai Interior Ministry informed.   

The investigation into the criminal case is underway.
