YEREVAN. – There is no major problem between Armenia and Russia,

Secretary of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) National Assembly Faction, Gagik Melikyan, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Friday.

He noted this reflecting on Thursday’s talk in Moscow between Presidents Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia and Vladimir Putin of Russia, during which Putin had stated that there are “objective problems” between the two sides.

“The presidents discussed quite serious issues relating to not only economic cooperation, but also military,” Melikyan said. “And Vladimir Putin’s statement that there are objective problems, I believe, is regarding the economic [sector].”

As per the RPA MP, these objective problems primarily relate to the determining of and the changes in the customs duties as well as to the circulation of goods, since Russia is considered an area of economic sanctions.
