YEREVAN. - The authorities are ready to work with everyone toward the further development of the Electoral Code, Vice President of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Eduard Sharmazanov said in the parliament today.

According to him, the new draft Electoral Code aims at raising the quality of the elections and the society’s confidence towards them. The authorities themselves first of all need transparent elections, he added.

In Sharmazanov’s words, after the address of the Armenian President on February 12, the country lives in a new political reality.

“It is necessary to strive to achieve a new high threshold. The adoption of the new Electoral Code will be the best exam. The authorities confirm as before that they are ready to work with all the powers without exception,” the Vice President said.
