Azerbaijan is committed to the complete and efficient implementation of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the High-level Plenary Meeting on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) in New York.

“Despite the fact that Armenia continues to occupy 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories and about one million people have been displaced, Azerbaijan is committed to the complete and efficient implementation of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015,” APA news agency quotes Azerbaijani FM.

After regular remarks about “occupation” of the Azerbaijani territories, Mammadyarov touched upon country’s “achievements” in different spheres. He also noted that the government displays political will and takes considerable steps to reduce poverty in the country.
