Well-known Armenian physician Hagop Kotoğyan’s wife, Suzan Kotoğyan, who on Tuesday was robbed and assaulted at her home in Istanbul, was not hospitalized. She underwent a medical examination in hospital and went home.

Ara Koçunyan, Chief Editor of Jamanak Armenian daily of Istanbul, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“At this moment, it is not yet known who robbed the Kotoğyans,” Koçunyan said. “It is only known that there were three people who entered the house, tied Suzan Kotoğyan, and asked for money.”

Ara Koçunyan noted that the couple is living alone, and their doctor was not at home at the time of the incident.

The criminals stole 1.5 million liras (approx. US$540 thousand) from the safe deposit box at home and left, according to Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul.

Suzan Kotoğyan, however, had managed to somehow free herself and call the police.

The ambulance staff, which arrived at the scene together with the police, had transferred the woman to hospital.
