President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday paid a working visit to Kotayk Province, where he attended the official opening of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center.

Also, the President toured this regional center, and visited its crisis management center and rescue operations management tent camp.

The main objective of this center is emergency prevention.

In addition, it aims to develop regional cooperation and raise the level of protection of the population and rapid reaction in cases of regional emergencies.  

After the opening ceremony, the Armenian and Russian ministers of emergency situations signed an agreement between the governments of Armenia and Russia, with respect to the living conditions, immunities, and privileges of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center.
