YEREVAN. - The Armenian pawnshops have no right to issue loans in foreign currency, the explanatory statement of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) says.
Under the Armenian legislation, pawnshops can issue only short-term consumer loans, ensured by movables of personal use. Therefore, the loans should be in Armenian dram.
Considering this circumstance, the CBA reminds that the pawnshops cannot offer foreign currency loans, and urges to communicate with CBA on the following number: (010) 592 697.
