YEREVAN. - One gets the impression that certain representatives of the Armenian opposition have confused the concepts of consensus and consolidation with ultimatum.

Vice President of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Eduard Sharmazanov said the aforementioned today during the parliamentary hearings on the draft Electoral Code at the Standing Committee of the Armenian NA on State and Legal Affairs.

According to the Vice President, it’s necessary to do everything possible for the public to confide in the election process. Touching on the opposition’s demand to publish the post-election voter lists, Sharmazanov said: “The chief reporter on the draft Electoral Code Davit Harutyunyan precisely noted that the official publication of the voter lists isn’t allowed, but we are ready to give en opportunity to the proxies to get familiar with those lists. If you don’t have so many proxies or if you don’t trust them, how can you hope to appear in the parliament? You are 7 members, but your appetite is that of 78 people.”
