YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan intensively violated the ceasefire in the last 24 hours.
“The Azerbaijani side, creating false rumors about tension, was paving the way in recent days to destabilize the situation on the Christian-wide [Easter] holidays,” the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia said in a statement.
Accordingly, in the last 24 hours, Azerbaijan intensively used rifle weaponry, mortars, and missile launchers along its border with Armenia and the zone which is under the responsibility of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army.
The Azerbaijan Armed Forces are also targeting Armenian settlements and civilians.
On Friday evening, Armenian citizen Norik Alikhanyan, 64, sustained a gunshot wound near his house in Berkaber village in Tavush Province, and, also, great damage was caused to the house of another Armenian citizen.
The Armenia Armed Forces and the NKR Defense Army subdivisions have launched operations to stabilize the situation and restrain the Azerbaijani side.
