STEPANAKERT. – The adversary continued violating the ceasefire along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, from Friday to early Saturday morning.
During this time the Azerbaijani armed forces fired more than 2,500 shots at the Armenian military positions, and by way of rifle weaponry, mortars, grenade launchers, and reactive rocket propelled howitzers.
Taghavard village resident Yervand Pirumyan (born in 1989), who was engaged in agricultural activities, was wounded in the shelling.
As a result of the retaliatory actions by the vanguard units of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army, however, the adversary’s aggressive “activeness” was quelled.
The NKR Ministry of Defense strongly condemns this aggravation of the situation by Azerbaijan, and announces that the full accountability for the consequences of this situation falls on the military and political leadership of the opposing country.
