The shots, which were fired by the adversary on late Friday evening, have caused considerable material damage to the house of a resident of Berkaber village, in Tavush Province of Armenia.
“As a result of the shots by the Azerbaijanis, an explosion occurred in the living room [of the house] of one of the residents,” Berkaber prefect Artur Madatyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “Fortunately, there are no casualties and injuries.”
He added that the amount of the damage is being assessed.
As reported earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia issued a statement on Saturday.
Accordingly, in the last 24 hours, Azerbaijan intensively used rifle weaponry, mortars, and missile launchers along its border with Armenia and the zone which is under the responsibility of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army.
The Azerbaijan Armed Forces are also targeting Armenian settlements and civilians.
On Friday evening, Armenian citizen Norik Alikhanyan, 64, sustained a gunshot wound near his house in Berkaber village in Tavush Province, and, also, great damage was caused to the house of another Armenian citizen.
The Armenia Armed Forces and the NKR Defense Army subdivisions have launched operations to stabilize the situation and restrain the Azerbaijani side.
