STEPANAKERT. – The adversary continued violating the ceasefire along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, from March 20 to 26.

During this time the Azerbaijani armed forces fired over 13,000 shots at the Armenian military positions, and by way of rifle weaponry, mortars, grenade launchers, and reactive rocket propelled howitzers, according to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army.

Taghavard village resident Yervand Firyan (born in 1989) was wounded in the shelling by the adversary.

As a result of the retaliatory actions by the vanguard units of the NKR Defense Army, however, the adversary’s aggressive “activeness” was quelled.

The NKR Ministry of Defense strongly condemns this aggravation of the situation by Azerbaijan, and announces that the full accountability for the consequences of this situation falls on the military and political leadership of the opposing country.
