The President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, stated that the hijacking of the EgyptAir airliner was not terrorism, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

“There is always a woman involved,” Anastasiades added.

On Tuesday morning, an unidentified person hijacked the said passenger aircraft, which was en route from Alexandria to Cairo, and he forced to land in Cyprus.

All 81 passengers on board the plane were freed at Larnaca airport.
