YEREVAN. – According to some information, the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Party of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has started talks with chairman of the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians of Russia, wealthy businessman Ara Abrahamyan, regarding political cooperation, reported Haykakan Zhamanak daily.

“The word is about possible cooperation in the context of the parliamentary elections of 2017 [in Armenia].

“Several months ago, Ara Abrahamyan had shown an open interest toward the political processes in RA, and had expressed a wish to form a party and, in this connection, to run in the upcoming elections in Armenia.

“According to our sources, ANC extended a hand of cooperation to Abrahamyan proposing to find an option by satisfying the mutual interests, to jointly participate in the upcoming political events in Armenia,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
