The Russian-Turkish relations have seriously suffered after the Su-24 fighter jet incident and as a result of the actions carried out against Russia.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the aforementioned during his speech at the U.S. Brookings Institute, Turkish Cihan news agency reports.
According to the Turkish President, the Russian-Turkish relations began to worsen as a result of the policy run by the Russian authorities in recent years, and after the fighter jet incident they suffered even more.
Erdoğan also noted that Turkey and Russia used to be important countries which communicated with each other, and the Russian authorities must take this fact into consideration. In his words, the resolution of regional issues forces the two countries to cooperate and Russia should see this.
