YEREVAN. - Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan has called a consultation in connection with the outright wide-scale offensive operations launched by the adversary along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces on late Friday night and early Saturday morning hours.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan, Chief of RA Government Staff - Minister Davit Harutyunyan, Armenian Minister of Health Armen Muradyan, Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, Armeinan Deputy Defense Minister Favit Tonoyan and Armenian Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan attended the consultation.
According to the PM, this unprecedented operation is another apparent manifestation of the Azerbaijani policy aimed at the breakdown of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “Inflicting significant losses to and pushing back the adversary, the Armenian Armed Forces are fully controlling the situation. The state institutions of Armenia are ready to contribute through their full capacities to taking necessary measures towards the stabilization of the situation.”
Reporting on the situation, Armenian Deputy Minister Davit Tonoyan noted that theactions launched by the adversary have been most unprecedented since 1994. The intense military actions on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani Line of Contact are continuing at the moment, the Armenian Armed Forces have given proper counterattack.
Parallel with giving corresponding instructions to the competent authorities, PM Abarhamyan stressed the necessity to provide timely and accurate information to the public.
