The actions by Azerbaijan only exacerbate the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Press Secretary Vladimir Zaynetdinov on Saturday told Interfax MNA military news agency.

“Everything must be decided through negotiations,” Zaynetdinov said. “In this case, the actions by the Azerbaijani side lead to exacerbation of the situation and the [Karabakh] conflict.”

He stressed that CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha and leadership of the CSTO Secretariat are in constant touch with the authorities of Armenia.

“I’ve received comprehensive information from the defense ministry of the Republic [of Armenia] about the armed conflict that occurred,” the CSTO spokesperson added. “We believe that the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict does not have an armed military solution.”
