STEPANAKERT. - Despite the calls of the international organizations, the adversary continued the terrorism all night, spokesperson for Karabakh President, Davit Babayan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am. 

“The situation on the border continues to remain tense; we continue defending our borders. All through the night and in the morning the adversary continued to violate the ceasefire, even when the whole world announced about the necessity to halt fire. They didn’t stop the terrorism in any way, which shows disrespect to those announcements and the international community,” Babayan said.

He also attached importance to the fact that even the Azerbaijani side publicly confesses of having violated the ceasefire and launching offensive operations, but even in this case the calls of the international community aren’t targeted.

“We have repeatedly noted that the assessments should be targeted. If one of the sides violates the ceasefire, it should be accountable for that, and the approach should be objective here. One of the sides announces that he is [the aggressor], while the response relates to both of them,” he said.

According to Babayan, the international organizations might be keeping balance here, expressing tougher stance concerning the adversary’s actions through non-public means.

“We should work with the international community so that its calls are more targeted. There is also another circumstance here: we think that if balanced position has been selected in the public version, perhaps through non-public means various states show tough stance to Azerbaijan regarding the unacceptability of its conduct. Anyway, the time will show this. We are sure that there must be tough and targeted public assessments,” the spokesperson said.

According to Davit Babayan, the work on confirming the identities of the casualties is underway, and for this reason their names are not yet announced. There in no information on new casualties.

Azerbaijan launched outright offensive military actions along the Line of Contact between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, from late Friday night through Saturday morning, and using a variety of weaponry as well as artillery, armored vehicles, and air force. A 12-year-old boy was killed, two other children were wounded. The Karabakh forces have reported about destroying two Azerbaijani helicopters, four tanks and two drones. As of yesterday, the Armenian side suffered 18 casualties, nearly 35 soldiers having been wounded.

Azerbaijani side suffered over 200 casualties.
