YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan had a phone conversation with his Georgian counterpart Tinatin Khidasheli to discuss escalation of violence at the line of contact between the armed forces of Karbakh and Azerbaijan.
The ministers discussed situation in the conflict zone and underscored importance of the need to establish peace.
The situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone dramatically escalated on Saturday night. From regular shootings and frequent sabotage-reconnaissance attempts, Azerbaijan has now shifted to large-scale attack all along the Line of Contact, using a variety of weaponry as well as artillery, armored vehicles, and air force. Both sides have suffered losses.
