One of the former members of Turkish illegitimate intelligence unit (JITEM) claimed that Hrant Dink was once kidnapped and taken to a meeting with Sevgi Erenerol, a suspect in Ergenekon case, Today’s Zaman reported. Giving testimony at the Istanbul High Criminal Court, Erhan Ozan who is currently a prisoner at Amasya jail, stated that Hrant Dink accompanied by two JITEM members was taken to a non-Muslim cemetery, where he talked to Sevgi Erenerol and was threatened.
He also said that he was gathering intelligence and taking photos of Agos newspaper building. Ozan informed the court that the project was directed by a retired general, arrested as an Ergenekon suspect as well, but refused to tell his name.
According to Ozan, the same year, JITEM was making plans to assassinate Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, religious community leader Fethullah Gulen and other politicians.
