YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan’s aggression, and not our legal steps, will mean an end of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group process.

Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, told the aforementioned to reporters, after Thursday’s Cabinet session.

Reflecting on the bill regarding Armenia’s recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), Kocharyan said: “The conclusion of the government is that the recognition of the independence of the NKR is due to the results of talks between the two Armenian states, [and] considering further developments, including external factors.

“As for the matter of NKR recognition, our position is very clear. And if Azerbaijan attempts to evade the ceasefire regime and launch a new aggression, the question of recognition definitely will be put on the agenda.”

At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the Government of Armenia approved its draft conclusion regarding the bill On Recognizing the Republic of Artsakh, and which opposition MPs Zaruhi Postanjyan and Hrant Bagratyan had submitted.

This draft law will now be considered at the National Assembly.
