STEPANAKERT. – The formal meeting between Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan and second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan—who is also First President of the NKR—was held at Sahakyan’s presidential residence.

The main topic of discussion was the war which Azerbaijan had unleashed against Artsakh in early April, and the ensuing situation, NKR Presidential Spokesperson Davit Babayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, Kocharyan also visited the frontline, and met with commanders of the NKR Defense Army.

“The visit was cognitive,” Babayan said. “The NKR President had similar meetings also with First President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan [who is also founding chairman of the opposition Armenian National Congress Party], and second President of NKR Arkadi Ghukasyan. Matters within the same framework were discussed.”

In his words, before that Bako Sahakyan had daily telephonic contacts with Robert Kocharyan.

“In general, the NKR President has had contacts with virtually all political forces’ leaders, politicians, [and] public figures,” Davit Babayan stressed.
