YEREVAN. – The number of marriages with a large age gap has increased in Armenia. For the most part, much older men marry much younger women, psychologist Samvel Khudoyan said at a press conference on Saturday.

He noted that the number of men with “more than one family” also has risen in the country.

“Of course, they are doing all this in secret,” Khudoyan added. “In my view, the main reason is the conditions—war, migrant work—created in the country. The number of men [in Armenia] has decreased because of the wars and heading out to migrant work.”
