YEREVAN. – Armenian News-NEWS.am on Sunday held its annual charity event at Northern Avenue in downtown Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, which registered unprecedented number of participants and guests. Overall, 2 million 450 thousand drams (approx. US$5,127) were donated during the event.

The proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will go to the families of the military servicemen who fell in Nagorno-Karabakh in April as well as to socially disadvantaged families, with children.

However, not everyone who wanted to managed to participate in the action. Therefore, we decided to open a special account that is provided below.

Armenian News-NEWS.am thanks all those who made their contribution to the action dedicated to the Children’s Day. 

The day started with drawing and plasticine modelling for kids. Later they were joined by Spiderman and Batman. 

A concert featuring singers and dancers started at midday, while unexpected rainy and windy weather did not interrupt the concert.  

One of the unexpected and successful performances was that of Yerevan Drums ensemble.

The participants bought ice cream, soda and corn that was sold by Armenian celebrities, athletes, journalists, political and public figures. 

 

One of those who unexpectedly took the stage was spokesperson for Karabakh's Prime Minister Atak Beglaryan.

Armenian officials and MPs actively participated in the action. 

One of the key parts of the concert was performance of rappers from Martakert, a city in Nagorno-Karabakh. It was their first performance in Yerevan.
