The Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian who is on an official visit in Tehran held a meeting with the Iranian Vice President, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi, on Monday.

Welcoming Minister Nalbandian, Salehi emphasized that he is always glad to see a good friend, Foreign Minister of Armenia, with whom he was working closely when he headed the Foreign Ministry of Iran, Armenian News - NEWS.am reported quoting the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry

The interlocutors discussed issues related to development of bilateral relations and exchanged views on international issues.

Ali Akbar Salekhi briefed Minister Nalbandian on implementation of arrangements on the Iranian nuclear program.

The Foreign Minister met Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on the same day.

Steps in the direction of deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation, process of implementation of the agreements reached at the high level were discussed at a meeting.

Armenian Foreign Minister presented the interlocutor the efforts to overcome the consequences of large-scale military action unleashed by Azerbaijan in the beginning of April. The interlocutors agreed that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The parties discussed international and regional issues.
