YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday held a joint news conference, in capital city Yerevan, with visiting President Miloš Zeman of the Czech Republic.

“This is the first visit of the Czech President to Armenia and, surely, it will leave its mark in the history of bilateral relations.

“We had a thorough discussion regarding a wide range of matters on the bilateral, regional, and international agendas.

“The Czech Republic’s continued support stands out in pushing Armenia-EU cooperation forward, which we appreciate very much. As a result, the Czech Republic is one of our stable and reliable partners in Europe, [and] cooperation with which is  on the highest level than ever before. 

“We thoroughly discussed, with President Zeman, bilateral economic cooperation, which is one of our priorities.

“I expressed the satisfaction of the Armenian side by the Czech Republic Chamber of Deputies Foreign Relations Committee’s unanimously-adopted resolution in connection with the Armenian Genocide Centennial, as well as for the Czech Republic president’s unequivocal position on this matter.

“We are also grateful for the favorable treatment toward the Armenian community of the Czech Republic.

“I believe that our interstate relations will continue to develop with success,” the President of Armenia specifically said in his remarks.
