YEREVAN. – The residents of Talish village, in the Martakert Region of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), are forming the “Talish” Battalion to defend the border area of their rural community.

“Talish” Fund Founding Director Mikayel Apresyan, who is also commander of the village fighting squad, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Saturday.

He noted that an agreement has been reached with the relative agencies on forming this battalion.

“I urge all Talish residents to consolidate, join the ‘Talish’ Battalion, [and] engage in defending our village,” said Apresyan. “We have left behind a [military] foothold to the enemy. If it were not for truce, I’m sure we would have taken it back. But as long as this position is in the hands of the enemy, it’s dangerous to return to the village.”
