An agreement has been reached on the level of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani presidents on expanding the capacities of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.

Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian told the aforementioned to journalists, summing up the meeting in St. Petersburg, Panorama reports.

“Unfortunately, we can say that Azerbaijan has so far failed to come up with a constructive approach on this issue, since at the OSCE Budgetary Committee they in fact hindered the provision of financing for the expansion of the capacities of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.

In the period between Vienna and St. Petersburg [summits] Azerbaijan constantly made different statements, which I wouldn’t call constructive. And these very days Azerbaijan is holding large-scale drills, involving 25,000 soldiers and heavy weapons.  I don’t think this is a constructive approach before such meetings,” Nalbandian said.

The FM reconfirmed Armenia’s commitment to continue the talks in the OSCE Minsk Group format. “It is no coincidence that the three Co-Chairs were invited to the final part of the meeting and the President of the Republic of Armenia (RA) had a private meeting with the Co-Chairs presenting them our impressions on the results of this summit,” Nalbandian added.
