Georgian PM said they are doing everything to open Upper Lars checkpoint in the next 4-5 days.

Armenian Transport Minister Gagik Beglaryan had meeting at the Georgian government to discuss the closure of the checkpoint on the border of Russia and Georgia and other issues.

The Georgian side informed the Armenian official about large-scale works at the site.

Upper Lars checkpoint is the only road route through which Armenian citizens are traveling to Russia and vice versa. The checkpoint has been closed since June 23 when the road section collapsed due to heavy rainfall.

Overall, 234 Armenian citizens and 13 Russian citizens in the opposite direction have been transported by special flights so far.
