There can be no surprises in the negotiations on the Karabakh conflict, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said during a briefing on Thursday.

Asked whether there is concern that the lack of information about the details of the talks can further be an unpleasant surprise to the public, Zakharov noted that this could happen if one of the parties did not participate in the negotiations.

“There can be no unpleasant surprise , as this a negotiation process which involves experts from all sides. This is what is called a shuttle diplomacy,” Zakharova said.

The lack of agreement must cause fear, she said, adding that ongoing active process could be completed constructively, and could bring hope of peace in the region.

“Now is a very important moment, and we must ensure that all the teams played for the overall result. Namely, to an end to violence and to cease potential for a new bloodshed,” representative of Russian MFA said.
