A total of 336 people are already arrested after the military coup attempt in Turkey, Reuters news agency reported citing Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ.

As reported earlier, the death toll during the military coup attempt has risen to 60, and 42 of them were killed in capital city Ankara, the Turkish media reported.  

In addition, around 150 injured were taken to hospitals in Istanbul.

There is no information yet on the number of injured taken to hospitals in Ankara.

On Friday evening, media reported about a military coup attempt in Turkey. Military vehicles appeared on the streets of Ankara and Istanbul, and there were shootings and explosions.

A group of Turkish military officers announced about seizing power to restore constitutional order, and ensure human rights and freedoms in the country. 

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım stated that the ongoing developments are unlawful.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that the coup attempt failed and it will be completely suppressed.
