YEREVAN. – According to the latest data, there are no Armenians among the injured in Thursday night’s terror attack in Nice, France.
“At this moment there is no information that there are [any Armenian] injured,” Tigran Balayan, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia (MFA), told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
As reported earlier, however, an Armenian citizen was killed in this tragedy. The young woman had moved to France several years ago, and she has a small child.
A truck ploughed into crowd in high speed in downtown Nice on Thursday at around 10։30pm, during Bastille Day celebrations in France.
Subsequently, its driver opened fire on people before police shot him dead.
French President François Hollande called this attack terrorism.
According to official information, a total of 84 people—including 10 children—died in this attack.
The Paris prosecutor’s office said 202 people were affected in this tragedy. A total 52 of them are in very critical condition, and 25 people are at the intensive care units of hospitals.
