Turkey has declared a state of emergency for three months following a failed coup attempt, President Erdogan said.
He added that the decision does not contradict the principle of rule of law. Erdogan believes that introduction of state of emergency is necessary to eliminate threat as soon as possible, BBC reported.
President Edogan said this would strengthen the value of democracy, rule of law, fundamental rights and freedoms.
