YEREVAN. - Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan paid an official visit to Armenia’s Gegharkunik province on Wednesday. The PM got familiarized with the work of establishing a fish-breeding company carried out in the framework of the program aimed at restoring trout resources in Lake Sevan.

The PM was specifically presented 5 nets for small fish installed in the lake, where 32 tons of small fish have already been released. Another seven nets will be installed in the lake in the future. 

In Karchaghbyur, the PM also visited Sevan trout processing plant, where he got familiarized with the investment program. Abrahamyan was told that the construction work of the plant is already coming to its end. The processed fish will be exported to Russia, Georgia and other international markets.

Thereafter the PM visited Ecokat cheese plant of Akunk, where he was presented the manufacturing process and the upcoming programs. Founded in 2005, the plant produces wide assortment of cheese, mostly sold in domestic market and also exported to Russia. The plant which employs 40 people, is equipped with modern technologies. New investments are planned to be made in order to expand the factory and increase its manufacturing capacities.

The PM welcomed the initiative, noting that the government is ready to discuss the issue on supporting the investment program.

Hovik Abrahamyan also visited the medical center and maternity clinic in Martuni city, where he got familiarized with the institution’s conditions. The PM instructed the heads of state authorities to discuss the possibilities to improve the conditions in the medical center and submit relevant proposals to the government.  He also ordered to allocate necessary means for solving the maternity clinic issues.

The PM’s visit to Gegharkunik ended in Gavar, where he visited the kindergarten in Hatsarat district, which needs restoration. Abrahamyan instructed to make preliminary calculations and planning for the renovation and include the project in 2017 state budget program. 

The PM also visited L. Kalantar theatre in Gavar, where he got familiarized with the renovation work. The construction work of the theatre will be completed by the end of the year. 405 mln AMD has been invested in the project. The PM was also briefed on the reconstruction work of Gavar Central Park, for which 120 mln AMD was allocated.
