YEREVAN. - The issue of national agreement government is a much wider one and the current dismissals have nothing to do with it.

Armenian National Assembly (NA) Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan told the aforementioned to journalists after the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Executive Body meeting on Thursday. According to her, the issue of national agreement government has more to do with the global reforms, which have been carried out in the country.

“They have to do with the global reforms which we have carried out since the period of making amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. The national agreement ideology which the President speaks about is exactly the one which depends on the constitutional reforms, as well as the processes to be implemented after elections. The amendments we have made to the constitution have led to a national agreement in the country’s government. The constitutional amendments have been made for that very purpose, and as a result of the elections we will have a government with such a wide agreement,” he said.

Earlier on Thursday, Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan resigned, and National Security Service (NSS) Deputy Director Hrant Yepiskoposyan was relieved of his duties.
