STEPANAKERT. - PM of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) called a consultation on road improvement activities on Friday. The persons responsible for the area, as well as the administration heads and representatives of construction companies took part in the meeting.

Briefing the participants on the government’s policy and tools aimed at improving the roads in the recent years, the PM noted that now due to the overload of the Artsakh Ughi CJSC, it is necessary to also develop other mechanisms in order to serve the roads of republican, regional and local significance, Karabakh government’s press-service reports.

“Especially considering that certain difficulties have arisen in the recent months with respect to the road improvement activities, we have decided to affix each construction company to a specific section of the republic’s territory so that they can carry out the current service of the roads. The government will provide these companies with relevant technical and financial means, while the regional administrations will cooperate with them on the ground for the productive coordination of the work,” Harutyunyan said.

Apart from this, the PM discussed with the company representatives certain issues related to the implementation of the decision, expressing conviction that through that mechanism the service of the republic’s roads will be carried out timely and efficiently.
