MOSCOW. - Russian President Vladimir Putin declined to comment on the statements of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on that Armenia has allegedly committed itself to handing over part of the Nagorno-Karabakh regions under the Azerbaijani control.

“First of all, I think it’s not within my obligations to comment on my colleagues’ statements, including in Azerbaijan, Armenia or elsewhere. I think if you want to get profound information, it is necessary to directly address the authors of the relevant articles,” Putin said, responding to the question of an Armenian journalist on the statements of the Azerbaijani president after the meetings in St. Petersburg and Baku, during which the Karabakh issue was discussed.

The Russian President also noted that “during this pretty complex work all the active diplomatic means, including use of mass media, are applied to announce certain inquiries and form inquiry positions,” RIA Novosti reports.
