The OSCE Field Assessment Mission will complete its work on October 12, Minsk Group Co-Chair Bernard Fassier said at Oct. 11 press conference. According to him, mission will be completed tomorrow after the co-chairs visit Kelbajar region.
French Co-Chair said that the mission comprises 3 experts, 2 of them from the office of the UN High Commissioner for refugees. They met with local population to get acquainted with humanitarian needs.
U.S. Co-Chair Robert Bradtke noted that all regions should be visited. “It is the first mission but we will visit the region by the end of year as well. We intend to visit the regions affected by the conflict, but presently we need to listen to people,” he said.
Russian Co-Chair Igor Popov stressed that he was shocked when learnt about the death of Armenian shepherd Manvel Saribekyan in Azerbaijani captivity. He expressed condolences to Saribekyan’s relative, noting the incident should be examined thoroughly with participation of international organizations, in particular the Red Cross.
