The Prosecutor General’s Office of Istanbul has sent a letter to the U.S. authorities, requesting to extradite Islamist priest Fethullah Gülen, whom the Turkish authorities blame for orchestrating last month’s failed coup, Gazeta.ru reports, citing Reuters.

The letter was handed through Turkey’s Justice Ministry. According to the letter, Gülen is accused of the attempted coup on July 15, as well as of dozens of different charges brought against him.
