YEREVAN. – Armenia is not authorized to speak in the stead of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), both in terms of status and territorial integrity.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan told the abovementioned to reporters, after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

“There is no concept of ‘concessions, or mutual concessions’ for me and any other official of Armenia, since matters related to the Karabakh conflict are primarily under the jurisdiction of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” stressed Kocharyan. “That is, no official of Armenia has even the right to speak about it.

“[But] it’s another matter that in this situation, as long as the NKR does not fully participate in the negotiations, Armenia is participating in it so as not to disrupt this process.”
