Militants wearing blue and red ribbons on their arms have stood out accompanying the Turkish tanks during the “Euphrates Shield” operation, which the Turkish Armed Forces have begun on Wednesday morning, against the Islamic State militants in Syria.

The “Free Syrian Army” group of militants, and the Turkmen detachments accompanied the Turkish tanks that entered Syria, reported Birgün daily of Turkey.

To tell one another apart and not shoot at each other, however, the Turkmens tied blue ribbons, whereas the “Free Syrian Army” group of militants—red ribbons, on their arms.
