YEREVAN. – The improvement of, and the work toward installing technical video monitoring equipment at, the frontline have begun in late 2013, and these activities were accelerated after the four-day war, Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan told reporters on Wednesday.
“The four-day war [, which Azerbaijan had unleashed against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) in early April,] showed that the defense line being installed with engineering equipment—through the entire depth and front—ensures the conducting of modern military operations,” stressed the minister. “It’s just that the work toward engineering installations was carried out in places where there were slight changes.”
Ohanyan added that having technical video monitoring equipment has played a preventive role in many combat operations.
