YEREVAN. – The first bell “rang” on Thursday, September 1, the Knowledge, Literacy and Schooling Day, at 1,430 schools in Armenia.
The schools in the country have opened their doors to children, on the occasion of the start of the new academic year (PHOTOS).
According to preliminary data, about 40 thousand children in Armenia have started Grade 1 this year, as compared to 39,246—in the year past.
The Knowledge, Literacy and Schooling Day is specified as a holiday in Armenia.
